Assistant Store Manager, Retail Store, Tsawwassen Mills

Job Summary:
As a key member of the store management team, the Assistant Store Manager will assist the Store Manager in ensuring all operational, business, and personnel targets are achieved for the store. This role is responsible for overseeing the daily operation of the store and ensuring compliance with all company policies and government legislation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operational Management: Supports the Store Manager in managing the day-to-day operations of the store to ensure the store meets key performance indicators and profit and loss expectations.
- Team Leadership: Develops and implements strategies to improve employee engagement, productivity, and retention.
- Customer Service: Ensures that customers receive exceptional service and that customer complaints are handled promptly and professionally.
- Inventory Management: Assists the Store Manager in managing inventory levels, including ordering, receiving, and stocking merchandise.
- Visual Merchandising: Ensures that the store is visually appealing and that merchandise is displayed in a way that maximizes sales.
- Financial Management: Assists the Store Manager in managing the store's budget, including forecasting, budgeting, and financial reporting.
Requirements:
- Education: College or university degree and 1 year of retail experience, preferably in the sporting apparel and footwear industry.
- Experience: Prior management and key holder experience preferred.
- Skills: Proficient retail knowledge, operational and selling skills, retail business management skills, coaching and talent management skills, and excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Working Conditions:
The Assistant Store Manager will work in a fast-paced retail environment, with a focus on providing exceptional customer service and achieving sales targets. The role will require flexibility, including working weekends, evenings, and statutory holidays, as well as extra hours during peak sales periods.
