About the Role
Ainsworth, a subsidiary of GDI, is seeking a skilled Mechanical Estimator to join our team in Sudbury, Ontario. As a key member of our construction team, you will be responsible for estimating and pricing commercial renovations and retrofits from start to finish.
Key Responsibilities
- Review project specifications and mechanical drawings to accurately estimate costs
- Develop detailed and accurate quality take-offs and cost estimates
- Obtain equipment and subcontractor pricing
- Prepare final estimates for review and approval
- Visit job sites to review estimates and ensure accuracy
- Prepare change orders and process them once accepted
Requirements
- Licensed trades person or combination of education and work experience
- 4+ years of experience in estimating
- Excellent organization and communication skills
- Ability to read and interpret technical specifications and mechanical drawings
- Familiarity with plumbing and boiler codes
