Job Summary

The Warehouse Supervisor will oversee the weekend shift operations, ensuring the highest level of productivity, staff morale, and cooperation. This role will enforce Occupational Health and Safety Act Regulations and McKesson Canada Health and Safety policies to maintain a safe working environment.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Prepare and ship customer orders with efficiency and accuracy within established timelines.
  2. Communicate night staff work schedules and duty assignments, as well as approve scheduled vacations and floaters.
  3. Ensure work practices occur in each specific workstation within the distribution environment in accordance with established operating procedures.
  4. Plan and implement continuous improvement programs within the distribution center, working with other supervisors on all shifts to create a productive and cohesive operation.
  5. Establish and maintain/improve daily operational standards and efficiencies.
  6. Ensure that all employees are aware of health and safety issues by offering training, verbal and written procedures, and enforcing safe operating procedures.
  7. Actively participate and promote a safe positive work environment for McKesson Canada employees.
  8. Conduct regular safety talks, workplace inspections (as scheduled), and perform accident/incident investigations when required.
  9. Evaluate employees' performance through prescribed training programs and regular observations to commend/correct work practices and encourage development.
  10. Take immediate action in correcting substandard/unsafe acts or conditions.
  11. Ensure equipment, materials, and protective devices are provided, maintained in good condition, and used as prescribed.
  12. Ensure employees are fully trained and aware of their responsibilities.
  13. Organize replenishment and shorts person to ensure pick face has sufficient product.
  14. Assist in the supervision of the Narcotics area and respond to any problems.
  15. Produce a daily shift update email.
  16. Address any employee inquiries or issues pertaining to their employment.
  17. Emphasize productivity without compromising accuracy and maintain budgetary allotted hours.
  18. Ensure the Narcotics area is staffed with knowledgeable and experienced individuals with proven track records of accuracy.
  19. Safely clean and document any breakage or spillage of hazardous materials (cytotoxic and dangerous goods).
  20. Assign functions to all individuals and monitor any individuals not executing their assigned functions.

General Responsibilities

  1. Train employees; evaluate their performance; encourage and assist them with their development.
  2. Approve time sheets for payroll.
  3. Administer support and metric tracking.
  4. Ensure company policies are respected.
  5. Maintain appropriate communication with all levels of the organization.
  6. Assure work areas are kept safe, organized, and clean.
  7. Follow company Health and Safety policies.
  8. Ensure all employees are aware of, and comply with, the health and safety issues and principles outlined in the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations.
  9. Participate in promoting a safe positive work environment for McKesson Canada employees.
