About the Role

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Home Support Worker to join our team at Spectrum Health Care. As a Home Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and support to our patients in the comfort of their own homes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide personalized care and support to patients with their daily living activities, such as bathing, dressing, and toileting.
  • Assist patients with meal preparation and light housekeeping duties, ensuring their living space is clean and comfortable.
  • Offer respite care to patients while their primary caregivers are out of the home, providing a much-needed break.
  • Develop and maintain a strong understanding of each patient's needs, preferences, and abilities, ensuring tailored care and support.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care coordination.
  • Travel within assigned regions to provide care and support to patients in their homes or facilities.

Requirements

  • Supportive Care Worker Certificate, Health Care Aide Certificate, or completion of Term 1 of a PSW program.
  • Valid Vulnerable Sector Police Check and TB Test (within 6 months) as a condition of employment.
  • Current CPR and First Aid Certificate.
  • Effective English communication skills, written and verbal.
  • Ability to interact with others in a caring, tactful, and courteous manner.
