Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to serve as the General Manager of the ARC Ensemble. This part-time, 12-month contract will require approximately 25 hours of work per week, with a hybrid work arrangement that includes time spent in our Toronto office and off-site performances.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee and execute the day-to-day functions of the ARC Ensemble, including coordinating and engaging external performance engagements and tours.
  • Act as a strategic advisor to the Artistic Director regarding the budget, marketing, and communications, as well as the general management of individual artists.
  • Liaise between the RCM and the Artistic Director to implement the mission and vision of the RCM's Ensemble in Residence.
  • Schedule rehearsals, recordings, and performances, and secure rehearsal times, spaces/venues, and technical requirements.
  • Book travel and accommodation for national and international touring.
  • Assist the Artistic Director with artistic and strategic planning, including outreach to secure local and international performance dates.
  • Manage the website and social media channels of the ARC Ensemble in collaboration with the Artistic Director.
  • Collaborate with the Marketing department to develop and realize ARC's communications plan.
  • Input and oversee budgets, and process expenses and invoices.
  • Support integration of ARC and RCM projects, and act as a liaison for the inclusion of GGS students and Rebanks Fellows in ARC's performances and recordings.
  • Support the Artistic Director by providing input/draft/review news and PR releases, and research, draft, and prepare fundraising proposals and grant applications.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in music or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of performing arts administration and/or management experience in the arts and culture/performance sector.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
  • Solid analytical and research skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, Publisher, and PowerPoint.
  • Demonstrated experience with various social media platforms.
