Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Medical Office Assistant to join our team in the Oncology Chemo department. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing administrative support to our clinicians and patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Transcribe and process clinician orders, preparing requisitions for tests or services, and communicating with patients and staff as needed.
  • Coordinate diagnostic and therapeutic services for patients, preparing and communicating related instructions and information.
  • Gather patient information for medical appointments, assisting in facilitating an efficient patient flow.
  • Perform a variety of receptionist duties, including greeting and registering patients, answering phones, and responding to inquiries.
  • Participate in the onboarding and orientation of staff, demonstrating work procedures and answering related queries.
Requirements
  • Grade 12, medical terminology, and graduation from a recognized Nursing Unit Clerk Program, plus one year's recent, related experience.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to deal with others effectively, physically able to carry out the duties of the position.
  • Ability to organize work, operate related equipment, and utilize a variety of computer software applications.
  • Commitment to upholding the shared responsibility of creating lasting and meaningful reconciliation in Canada.
