Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our team at BC Cancer. As a Registered Nurse in our PACU department, you will play a critical role in providing exceptional patient care and contributing to the delivery of high-quality cancer services.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care to oncology patients, including assessment, treatment, and education.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans.
- Administer medications, injections, and IV fluids as required by the care plan.
- Monitor patient reactions to treatment and changes in physical or mental status.
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records.
- Admit, transfer, or discharge patients according to BC Cancer policies and Centre directives.
- Assist patients in interpreting their care plans and refer them to other healthcare professionals as needed.
- Maintain a safe environment for patients, families, and staff by adhering to emergency procedures and safety policies.
Requirements
- Graduation from an approved School of Nursing with current practicing registration as an RN with the British Columbia College of Nurses & Midwives (BCCNM).
- Current CPR (Level C) certification.
- One (1) year of recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
