Premiere Van Lines is seeking a professional Heavy Goods Operator to join our team. As a key member of our transportation department, you will be responsible for transporting goods safely and efficiently.

Salary: $60,000 - $80,000 per year

Job Description:

We are looking for a skilled Heavy Goods Operator to assist customers with professionalism, handle heavy loads, and operate trucks to transport materials. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of certifications such as Air Brakes Endorsement, Class 1/1F/A Licence, and First Aid Certificate.

Responsibilities:
  • Operate and drive straight trucks (4,600kg+ or 10,000lbs+) to transport goods safely and efficiently.
  • Assist customers with professionalism, handling heavy loads and providing excellent customer service.
  • Record cargo information accurately and maintain documentation such as bill of lading, driver logbook, and inspection reports.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Certifications: Air Brakes Endorsement, Class 1/1F/A Licence, Class 3/3F/DF Licence, Class 5/5F/G Licence, First Aid Certificate, Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate
  • Documentation knowledge: Bill of lading, Driver logbook, Inspection report, Maintenance and repair reports
  • Type of trucking: Straight truck (4,600kg+ or 10,000lbs+ with 3+ axles)
  • Transportation experience: Local, Provincial/territorial, Short-haul
  • Work conditions: Attention to detail, Handling heavy loads, Overtime required, Physically demanding, Repetitive tasks
  • Weight handling: Up to 45 kg (100 lbs)
  • Personal suitability: Organized, Reliability, Team player, Work Term: Permanent, Work Language: English, Hours: 45 to 50 hours per week
