Job Title: Concrete Finisher

Dean Wood Construction Ltd is seeking a skilled Concrete Finisher to join our team. As a Concrete Finisher, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality finish on our concrete projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Check formwork, granular base, and steel reinforcement materials to ensure they meet specifications.
  • Fills hollows and removes spots on freshly poured cement to achieve a smooth finish.
  • Operates power vibrators to compact concrete and level top surface concrete according to grade and depth specifications.
  • Imparts desired finish to concrete surfaces using hand and power tools.
  • Installs anchor bolts, steel plates, door sills, and other fixtures.
  • Applies hardening and sealing components to cure surfaces.
  • Waterproofs, damp proofs, and restores surfaces.
  • Repairs, resurfaces, and replaces worn or damaged sections of concrete structures.
Work Environment:
  • Work in a dusty environment with potential exposure to heights, noise, and outdoors.
Requirements:
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • 3 years to less than 5 years of experience in the trade.
  • Participation in a government or community program or initiative that supports newcomers and/or refugees, youth employment, Veterans, Indigenous people, or mature workers.
  • Permanent employment with 40 hours per week.
  • English language proficiency.
