Job Title: Concrete Finisher

We are seeking a skilled Concrete Finisher to join our team at Dean Wood Construction Ltd. As a Concrete Finisher, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality finishes on our construction projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Check formwork, granular base, and steel reinforcement materials to ensure they meet the required standards.
  • Fills hollows and removes spots on freshly poured cement to achieve a smooth finish.
  • Operates power vibrators to compact concrete and level the top surface according to grade and depth specifications.
  • Imparts the desired finish to concrete surfaces using hand and power tools.
  • Installs anchor bolts, steel plates, door sills, and other fixtures as required.
  • Applies hardening and sealing components to cure surfaces and ensure durability.
  • Waterproofs, damp proofs, and restores surfaces to prevent damage and ensure a long-lasting finish.
  • Repairs, resurfaces, and replaces worn or damaged sections of concrete structures to maintain the integrity of the building.
Work Environment and Physical Demands:
  • Works in a dusty environment with frequent exposure to heights, noise, and outdoor conditions.
  • Physically demanding, requiring the ability to handle heavy loads, bend, crouch, and kneel.
  • Requires attention to detail to ensure high-quality finishes.

  • Participates in government or community programs that support newcomers, refugees, youth employment, Veterans, Indigenous people, and visible minorities.
Work Term and Language:
  • Permanent position with 40 hours of work per week.
  • Work language: English.
