Job Summary:

BWXT Nuclear Energy Canada Inc. is seeking an experienced Instrumentation and Control Engineer to join our team in Peterborough, Ontario. As a key member of our Fuel Handling and Engineered Solutions group, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing control systems for our nuclear fuel and fuel channel components.

Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop control systems for fuel handling and engineered solutions
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and company policies
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, including design specifications, test procedures, and commissioning requirements
  • Participate in design reviews and customer review meetings to ensure stakeholder and design input
  • Test and commission complex equipment and systems
  • Review selection of components and equipment, including motors, cables, relays, and junction boxes
  • Adhere to on-time and on-budget criteria associated with project commitments and customer success
  • Support the development and estimating of engineering proposals
Requirements:
  • B.A.Sc. in Electrical/Instrumentation & Control/Automation or related discipline Engineering
  • Holds or working towards a current PEO license
  • Typically requires 3 years' experience in design engineering in Nuclear, Aerospace, Transportation, Oil and Gas, Mining, or other highly regulated and process-based design
  • Demonstrated ability with supporting leadership on engineering projects over their complete EPC life cycles with little support
  • Exposure with a range of interdisciplinary activities, including systems design, requirements development, interface design, and testing
  • Experience working with and writing design documentation, including assembly drawings, elementary/schematic drawings, connection wiring diagrams, component specifications, design requirements, commissioning requirements, and test procedures
