We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Territorial Communicable Disease Coordinator to join our team at the Government of Northwest Territories. As a key member of our public health team, you will play a critical role in reducing the impact of communicable diseases on our regional population.
Key Responsibilities- Provide expert guidance and direction to frontline healthcare professionals on communicable disease policies, procedures, and best practices in accordance with Northwest Territories legislation and approved standards.
- Coordinate communicable disease management in accordance with surveillance, control, treatment, education, and prevention programming for all communicable diseases in the territory.
- Develop and implement effective strategies to prevent the spread of communicable diseases and reduce the risk of outbreaks.
- Collaborate with regional public health service programs and community health centers to ensure continuity of care and provide consultative services as needed.
- Work closely with the Chief Public Health Officer to ensure alignment with public health policies and procedures.
- Baccalaureate in Nursing or a related field, plus five years of recent experience in a clinical healthcare setting, with four years of experience in public health or community health.
- Eligibility for registration with the College and Association of Nurses of the Northwest Territories and Nunavut (CANNN).
