Occupational Therapist

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Occupational Therapist to join our team at St. Joseph's Healthcare Hamilton. As an Occupational Therapist, you will play a vital role in providing assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation services to individuals with serious and persistent mental illness, as well as complex physical health issues.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify client needs and develop individualized treatment plans
- Provide occupational therapy interventions to promote client participation in activities of daily living and optimize health and well-being
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care and support
- Develop and implement group treatment plans to promote social and emotional well-being
- Provide clinical supervision and direction to assigned support staff and students
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Therapy required; Master's Degree preferred
- Registration with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario (COTO) and current professional association registration (OSOT, CAOT)
- Minimum 2-5 years experience providing OT interventions in an outpatient mental health setting
- Excellent assessment, crisis intervention, and critical thinking skills
- Strong knowledge of occupational therapy theory and practices, as well as mental health treatment modalities
