Job Overview

The District of Parry Sound Social Services Administration Board is seeking a Community Development Specialist to join our team.

Salary and Benefits

This full-time position offers a competitive salary range of $60,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience, as well as a comprehensive benefits package, including dental plan, vision care benefits, and a pension plan.

Job Description

As a Community Development Specialist, you will work with various community service organizations to develop and implement programs that address socio-economic needs and conditions. Your primary responsibilities will include preparing reports and case histories, conducting administrative tasks, and appraising clients' needs for specific services.

You will also be responsible for assessing clients' relevant skill strengths and development needs, developing and coordinating the delivery of services within the community, and working closely with community members to understand their needs and concerns.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you will require a College/CEGEP education and at least 2 years of experience in social services or a related field. You must possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

A valid driver's licence and willingness to travel are essential, and you must be able to work 35 hours per week. As per collective agreement, you will also receive financial benefits, including an annual salary increase and pension plan contributions.
