West Parry Sound Health Centre (WPSHC) has always employed an innovative planning approach aimed at integrating services. Faced with the challenges of rural care delivery, WPSHC has partnered in regional alliances and created internal programming solutions that have benefited patient care and improved services throughout the catchment area.

Today our uniquely integrated health care organization includes Lakeland Long Term Care, six Nurse Practitioner Led Clinics delivering care to rural communities, management of District ambulance services and dispatch, and a full range of in-patient and out-patient programs associated with a 90-bed acute care hospital.

WPSHC's innovative approach to integration has benefited the community through more seamless local delivery of services, improved access to primary care, a wider understanding of local needs and the ability to respond as these needs continue to evolve. Additionally, these initiatives have resulted in cost savings through co-location and improved 'point-of-service' for clients.

The West Parry Sound Health Centre has an exciting opportunity for an experienced leader to oversee and manage our Ambulance Communications Services.

**Primary Responsibilities**:

- Providing management, leadership and expertise to the Ambulance Communications department.
- Developing, implementing and evaluating quality assurance programs, standards, and local policies, protocols and procedures
based on provincial standards, research and consultation with stakeholders
- Developing short and long-term departmental goals and objectives.
- Ensuring that ambulance dispatch service complies with Ministry of Health and Long Term Care (MOHLTC) standards and fire
dispatch service adheres to the contracts of the participating fire departments.
- Performance management, mentoring, coaching, facilitating, and developing clinical learning opportunities for ambulance
communications staff.
- Fostering an environment that enables communication, creative thinking and participation by modeling approachability, visibility
and exceptional interpersonal skills.
- Establishing, developing and maintaining collaborative partnerships with all internal and external stakeholders.
- Promotion of safe, effective, evidence-based and quality outcomes.
- Strategic, financial, scheduling and operational planning for ambulance communication services.
- Overseeing the monitor of key performance indicators and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
- Utilizing appropriate strategies such as development of policies, procedures and quality improvement activities to prevent and
minimize risk.

**More About You**:
To qualify for the role, you will need to have:

- Completion of MOHLTC Core Training/Entry to Practice or equivalent;
- Minimum of 5 years dispatch experience in a Communications Centre;
- Must be eligible to work in Ontario under the Ambulance Act;
- Previous experience in a health care leadership position as well as completion of formal leadership or managerial training;
- Strong knowledge of the Emergency Health Services and telecommunications systems;
- Familiar with applicable legislation and regulations, including but not limited to the Ambulance Act, Personal Health Information
Protection Act (PHIPA), and Mental Health Act;
