As a Taxation Manager at Mauser Packaging Solutions, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the company's compliance with Canadian tax laws and regulations. Your primary responsibility will be to oversee the annual filing of income tax and partnership tax returns, as well as quarterly and annual provision of companies reporting under ASC 740 rules and requirements.

The successful candidate will possess a strong technical base with broad tax skills, excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to work effectively in a dynamic environment. They will also have experience in management roles of tax and finance, preferably with a CPA designation and a university business degree.

In this role, you will be responsible for:

  • Preparing and overseeing monthly GST/HST, QST, and PST returns for US Non-Resident Registrants of Canada and Canadian Companies;
  • Managing instalment payments, final payments, and other tax payments as needed;
  • Supporting intercompany cross-border transactions, settlements, and repatriation;
  • Collaborating with import/export teams on inbound customs compliance tax matters;
  • Managing and overseeing Canadian income tax and indirect tax audits;

You will also be required to perform technical research related to tax planning and compliance issues, keep up-to-date on new legislation, case law, and technical interpretations, and determine their impact on the entities. In addition, you will need to communicate effectively with various stakeholders, including Controllers, Finance, Treasury, Legal, Payroll, and Local Business Teams.

To succeed in this role, you must be a self-starter who can adjust and work effectively in a dynamic environment. You should have excellent problem-solving skills, be well organized, and able to prioritize tasks effectively.
