Winery Tasting Room Attendant Job Description

About Us:

Glass House Estate Winery is a family-owned and operated boutique winery producing high-quality, artisanal wines in the beautiful Campbell Valley Wine Route.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Winery Tasting Room Attendant to join our team at Glass House Estate Winery. As a key member of our hospitality team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, sharing your knowledge of our wines, and contributing to the overall success of our winery.

Responsibilities:

  • Wine Knowledge: Acquire and maintain thorough knowledge of our winery and wines, including their history, production methods, and pairing suggestions.
  • Customer Service: Welcome guests to the establishment with a professional and welcoming approach, manage reservations, and seat guests in a timely manner.
  • Wine Service: Describe wines, answer visitor questions, and assist with running drinks and food, clearing and resetting tables.
  • Wine Sales: Assist with operating the retail purchase area and promoting our wines to customers.
  • Housekeeping: Assist with daily and weekly cleaning and environment upkeep, including display and stocking shelves.
  • Teamwork: Collaborate with other team members to ensure seamless service and a positive customer experience.

Requirements:

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience: Previous experience in a winery, restaurant, or hospitality setting an asset.
  • Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and knowledge of wine an asset.
  • Certifications: Serving It Right Certification and Occupational First Aid Level 1 considered an asset.
