You will be working closely with the Chief Financial Officer and the Managing Partner to prepare and analyze financial statements, budgets, and forecasting. Additionally, you will serve as a liaison between the accounting department and other departments within the firm, addressing inquiries and providing accounting support as needed.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Work in support of the CFO and the Managing partner in the preparation and analysis of financial statements, budgets, and forecasting.
  • Serve as a liaison between the accounting department and other departments within the firm, addressing inquiries and providing accounting support as needed.
  • Review trust and general journal entries, accounts receivable and payable entries, electronic funds transfers, and wire transactions.
  • Assist with month-end, quarterly, and year-end processes, including the preparation and analysis of financial statements, reports, and external audits.
  • Provide full-cycle accounting support, ensuring accurate and timely reconciliations, invoicing, accounts receivable collection, accounts payable processing, and reporting.
  • Prepare financial performance reports for partners, associates, students, and clerks. Perform financial analysis and provide strategic recommendations to management.
  • Complete monthly reporting and deliverables to the CFO and Managing Partner, including aging analysis of accounts receivable and work-in-progress, bank reporting, accounts payable reporting and payments, monthly financial statements, cost recovery analysis, and more.
  • Assist with Law Society and insurance filings and compliance.
  • Process remittances and tax filings.
  • Coordinate special projects as needed.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, able to interact with staff, peers, and senior leadership professionally and effectively. A solid understanding of accounting principles, controls, banking, and financial implications is essential. Business acumen and proficiency with technology are also required. Exceptional attention to detail, organizational, and analytical skills are necessary to excel in this role.
