About the Role

We are seeking a highly organized and customer-focused Service Writer to join our team at Calmont Equipment. As a Service Writer, you will be the first point of contact for customers and will be responsible for managing the day-to-day administrative and clerical functions of the service department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Greet and assist all customers that enter the service area.
  • Address customer inquiries in person, through email, or on the phone.
  • Engage with customers and act as liaison for the service department.
  • Contact customers when additional work is required ensuring that work is authorized.
  • Follow-up on status of repairs to ensure units will be ready when promised.
  • Advise customers of the status of repairs and any delays when required.
  • Work with service personnel to provide accurate quotes on costs of repairs.
  • Provide work orders to Shop Foreman for scheduling.
  • Review all work orders to ensure all charges are fair, equitable, properly documented, and shop supplies are accounted for.
  • Ensure all work orders are closed in an expeditious manner within monthly and yearly timelines.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of 2 years Customer Service experience.
  • 2 – 5 years prior Service Department technical experience or mechanical background preferred.
  • Energetic and friendly with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Self-starter with the ability to prioritize and organize workload in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent attention to detail with the drive to meet tight deadlines.
  • Experience with CDK Software considered an asset.
