At Northern Health Authority, we are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Nursing Professional to join our team in the Critical Care department. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality patient care, working collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care delivery.

About the Role

The Nursing Professional will be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care plans, while adhering to quality management principles and the mission statement of the University Hospital of Northern British Columbia. This role is defined by the needs of the hospital, a select patient/family population, agency expectations, and goals for professional nursing practice.

Key Responsibilities
  • Patient Assessment: Conduct thorough assessments of patients to identify their physical, emotional, and social needs.
  • Development of Care Plans: Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop comprehensive care plans that meet the unique needs of each patient.
  • Care Delivery: Implement care plans, providing direct patient care and ensuring timely interventions when necessary.
  • Documentation: Accurately document patient information, treatment plans, and outcomes in accordance with organizational standards.

Qualifications and Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must possess the following qualifications and requirements:

  • BC College of Nurses and Midwives Registration: Be registered as a practicing RN registrant with the BC College of Nurses and Midwives.
  • Post-Graduate Education: Hold post-graduate courses (within the last five years) appropriate to your service assignment or equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • Skills and Abilities: Demonstrate effective communication, verbal and written, and the ability to promote safe, competent patient care. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with all members of the healthcare team.
