About the Position
Are you passionate about heavy vehicle mechanics and school transportation? Autobus Voltigeurs inc. is seeking a skilled School Bus Mechanic to join our mechanical team in Drummondville.
Key Responsibilities
- Repair and maintain school buses to ensure safe and reliable transportation for students.
- Perform road tests to identify and address any mechanical issues.
- Complete detailed mechanical maintenance reports and work orders to track progress and identify areas for improvement.
- Perform paint and finishing repairs to maintain the appearance and integrity of our fleet.
- Follow-up on the Preventive Maintenance Program (PMP) to ensure our vehicles are properly maintained and running efficiently.
- Compile parts lists for repairs and maintain accurate inventory records.
- Monitor warranties and issue parts release slips on work orders as needed.
- Organize and maintain the workshop, including equipment and storage areas.
- Research technical documentation to stay up-to-date on the latest industry developments and best practices.
- Clean and maintain work and wash areas to ensure a safe and healthy work environment.
- Install radio, camera, and GPS equipment on new vehicles to enhance safety and efficiency.
- Detect and diagnose mechanical problems to prevent breakdowns and ensure our fleet is running smoothly.
Requirements
- 3 years of experience in heavy vehicle mechanics.
- DEP in heavy vehicle mechanics or relevant experience.
- Knowledge of diesel mechanics and electric propulsion systems.
- Knowledge of Cummins, Wabco, Outlook, and Allison software.
- Knowledge of hydraulic brakes.
- PEP card (an asset).
- Valid Canadian work permit.

- Good attendance record and strong work ethic.
- Good manual dexterity and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Initiative and sense of responsibility.
- Good spatial perception and attention to detail.
Work Schedule
- Monday to Friday.
- Full-time, permanent position.
Compensation
