Accounting Operations Coordinator

At Johnston Group, we're seeking a detail-oriented and analytical professional to join our finance team as an Accounting Operations Coordinator. This role plays a vital part in supporting our Finance Manager and requires strong analytical skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform daily banking activities, including receivable and disbursement processing
- Prepare reports and participate in month-end trust account reconciliations
- Interact with internal and external clients, providing excellent customer service
- Document and update accounting processes and procedures as needed
- Collaborate with the finance team and other coworkers on special projects to improve accounting processes, cost management, and operational efficiencies
Requirements:
- Post-secondary degree or diploma in business administration, accounting, finance, or a related discipline
- Accounts payable experience, including invoice processing, vendor maintenance, purchase orders, and payment processing
- Accounts receivable experience, including invoice processing, deposit preparation, and customer maintenance
- Accounting reconciliations experience, such as A/P, A/R to sub-ledgers, and bank reconciliations
- Proficiency in MS Excel and accounting software, such as Sage Intacct
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent interpersonal skills, strong problem-solving skills, and strong communication skills
- Attention to detail and ability to multi-task
- Knowledge of Accounting Standards for Private Entities (ASPE) is an asset
- Bilingualism is an asset
