We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Network Security Engineer with expertise in SecOps to join our team at OMERS.

Our ideal candidate will have 5 years of hands-on experience in designing, deploying, operating, managing, and troubleshooting Palo Alto (PAN) firewalls, implementing firewall rules using orchestration tools like AlgoSec. This role is crucial to enforcing enterprise Cyber policies and controls on the network infrastructure.

About the Role

This Senior Network Security Engineer position requires a strong understanding of network security principles and best practices. Our ideal candidate will have 5 years of experience in installing, configuring, and managing Palo Alto firewalls, as well as proficiency in AlgoSec for automating and orchestrating firewall rule changes.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Installing, configuring, and maintaining Palo Alto firewalls, performing regular updates, patches, and upgrades to ensure the firewalls are up-to-date with the latest security features and fixes.
  • Monitoring firewall performance and health, troubleshooting, and resolving issues as they arise, optimizing firewall performance through regular tuning and configuration adjustments.
  • Conducting periodic reviews and audits of firewall configurations and policies to ensure compliance with security standards and best practices.

Our team operates under a flexible hybrid work model, requiring teams to come into the office three days per week.

This role offers a competitive salary of $130,000 per annum, commensurate with experience, plus benefits and opportunities for professional growth and development.
