Join the National Research Council of Canada (NRC) as a Senior Industrial Technology Advisor and play a key role in helping Canadian companies innovate and grow. As a trusted advisor, you will work closely with small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to identify and overcome technical and business challenges, providing expert guidance and support to help them succeed.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic team of professionals who are passionate about innovation and entrepreneurship. As a Senior Industrial Technology Advisor, you will be responsible for:

  • Providing technical and business advice to SMEs to help them overcome challenges and achieve their goals
  • Identifying and developing new business opportunities for SMEs
  • Collaborating with other NRC teams to provide comprehensive support to SMEs
  • Staying up-to-date with the latest industry trends and technologies to provide expert advice to SMEs

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A post-secondary degree in Science or Engineering, or a combination of a post-secondary degree in another field with significant work experience relevant to the position
  • Recent and extensive industrial business experience as an entrepreneur or senior manager in one or more of the following technological domains: Mechanical, Computer, Electrical or Chemical engineering Mechatronics, advanced automation and robotics Advanced materials design, fabrication and manufacturing Instrumentation, sensing and process control
  • Recent and extensive private sector experience in developing and commercializing innovative products or services, with demonstrable outcomes
  • Experience in natural resource, oil and gas, renewable energy, international business development and/or intellectual property management would be considered an asset

The NRC offers a competitive salary range of $137,226 to $161,258, as well as a wide range of benefits, including comprehensive health and dental plans, pension and insurance plans, vacation and other leave entitlements.
