About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Technical Director to lead our team of frontend and backend developers at Ignition. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for driving the technical direction of our software development efforts and ensuring the delivery of high-quality products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Technical Leadership: Provide technical guidance and oversight to ensure the successful delivery of projects and the development of high-quality software.
  • Team Management: Lead and manage a team of experienced frontend and backend developers, providing coaching, mentoring, and feedback to ensure their growth and development.
  • Integration and Collaboration: Collaborate with external partners and internal stakeholders to build and maintain integrations between Ignition and our partners, ensuring scalable and robust solutions.
  • Problem-Solving: Utilize strong problem-solving skills to navigate complex and ambiguous situations, ensuring the delivery of high-quality software.
  • Communication: Communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders, including product managers, to build a shared understanding of product problems and ensure solutions align with platform architecture.
Requirements
  • Experience: 10+ years of experience in web application development, with a strong focus on backend technologies.
  • Leadership: 3+ years of team management experience, demonstrating the ability to build and lead a diverse and high-performing team.
  • Technical Expertise: Strong technical expertise in JavaScript SPA using React.js with Styled Components, Ruby/Rails with GraphQL, Postgres, Redis, AWS, Sidekiq, RSpec, Cypress, and CI/CD using Buildkite.
  • Collaboration: Experience working in a distributed team environment, with a strong ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.
