About the Opportunity

  • As a primary care nurse practitioner, you will provide general and preventative care to patients of all ages.
  • You will conduct thorough medical histories, perform physical examinations, diagnose and treat illnesses, order laboratory tests, and prescribe medications as needed.
  • Your expertise will extend to health promotion, disease prevention, and patient education.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality patient care, ensuring timely and effective treatment of acute and chronic conditions.
  • Conduct age-appropriate histories and physical examinations for complex patients.
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests, such as lab work and imaging studies.
  • Prescribe medications and non-pharmacological interventions as necessary.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.

Requirements

  • Degree in Nursing from an accredited institution.
  • Master's degree in Nurse Practitioner Program or higher.
  • Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
  • Professional liability insurance coverage.
  • At least 1-2 years of experience in the Nurse Practitioner role, although recent graduates are encouraged to apply.
  • Current First Aid and CPR certification.
