**About the Role:**

We are seeking an experienced Memory Care Caregiver to join our team at Brookdale Senior Living. The successful candidate will provide high-quality care to residents with dementia, ensuring their physical, emotional, and social needs are met.

This role involves assisting residents with daily living activities, such as bathing, dressing, and grooming, as well as participating in team behavioral expression meetings and leading daily path engagement programs. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide dementia care, including adapted ADLs, meaningful engagement, and communication to residents following a person-centered individual service plan.
  • Assist residents with daily living activities, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, transferring, and getting to and from programs and meals.
  • Participate in team behavioral expression meetings or discussions with community leadership.
  • Know the residents' life stories, preferences, historical routines, and interests.
  • Serve meals to residents in the dining room and assist with meal preparation as needed.
  • Lead daily path engagement programs provided for residents as described in their life story or calendar.
  • Maintain residents' records daily, in a timely manner, and in accordance with company policy and procedures.
  • Observe and report changes in resident health and emotional conditions promptly.
  • May assist residents with medication as defined in medication procedure, following state laws and physician orders.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and three to six months related experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of dementia, particularly Alzheimer's disease, and certification may be required depending on state regulations.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos; ability to write simple correspondence; ability to communicate effectively in English with residents, family members, and other associates.
