Job Summary

Avro Transport Inc. is seeking a skilled Welder Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality of metal fabrication and welding services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Inspect and Test Welds: Examine welds to ensure they meet industry standards and specifications.
  • Operate Metal Shaping Equipment: Use manual or semi-automatic flame-cutting equipment, brakes, shears, and other metal shaping, straightening, and bending machines to prepare metal for welding.
  • Perform Welding and Brazing: Fit, braze, and torch-straighten metal to create high-quality welds and joints.
  • Operate Specialized Equipment: Use oxygen arc cutting equipment (arc-air), (AOC) and other specialized equipment to cut and shape metal.
  • Determine Material Weldability: Assess the suitability of materials for welding and ensure they meet industry standards.
  • Operate Hoisting and Lifting Equipment: Safely operate hoisting and lifting equipment to move heavy metal components.
  • Maintain Equipment: Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on welding, brazing, and soldering equipment to ensure optimal performance.
Requirements
  • Education: College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 3 months to less than 1 year.
  • Experience: 1 to less than 7 months of experience in a related field.
  • Language: English.
  • Work Hours: 35 hours per week.
