Accounting Manager Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Reporting to the Director of Finance & Business Support with a dotted line to the Assistant Director of Finance & Business Support, you will maintain a system of accounts and controls, providing accurate data necessary for all required accounting reports and statements.
  • Prepare month-end journal entries, ensuring efficient completion of all month-end functions.
  • Assist in the preparation of month-end balance sheet account reconciliation and analysis.
  • Assist in the completion of financial statements, management reports in accordance with Corporate Policies & Procedures for review.
  • Coordinate and ensure that all daily, weekly, semi-monthly, and monthly management reports are issued on a timely and accurate basis.
  • Participate in the creation of the Annual Operating & Capital Budgets, Strategic Plan, and Monthly Operating Forecasts.
  • Assist in the preparation for internal, external audits.
  • Assist in the implementation and completion of special projects as assigned by the DOF/ADOF.
  • Assist in the effective utilization and integration of hotel and accounting technology systems, including software applications, current, and future.
  • Assist in the development of Operational Leaders in the interpretation, orientation, training, and analysis of financial procedures and decision-making.
  • Develop an engaged, enthusiastic, and guest-focused department.
  • Recruit, develop, evaluate, and motivate the team.
  • Represent the Accounting office and the ADOF/DOF in their absence.
  • Actively contribute to departmental leadership and direction.
  • Participate in the hotel emergency plan and crisis procedures, and ensure that they are kept up to date, area of the emergency plan and crisis planning, and procedures.
  • Adhere to and promote all Company Health & Safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe work environment.
  • Follow all safety policies.
  • Perform all other duties and special projects as assigned.
