Position Overview

We are currently in search of a Lead Mining Engineer to work remotely within the province of Québec. This role presents a unique opportunity to enhance our growing presence in Quebec, allowing for flexible work arrangements, including remote and in-office options.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide expert technical support and consulting services on mining projects for both North American and international clients.
  • Contribute to various technical studies, perform due diligence, offer operational assistance, and manage projects effectively.
  • Develop and sustain a robust client network in collaboration with the Ontario mining team.
  • Continuously enhance your technical skills and industry knowledge to support the SRK Ontario team, which operates from multiple locations.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of an undergraduate degree in mining engineering or a related discipline.
  • At least 10 years of hands-on experience in mining engineering, whether in operational roles or consulting environments.
  • Fluency in both spoken and written French and English is essential.
  • Advanced technical skills in mining engineering, particularly in mine planning and optimization software, ideally Deswik.
  • Comprehensive understanding of mineral project dynamics to identify potential risks and opportunities.
  • Proven project management capabilities.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills, particularly in collaborative team settings.
  • Ability to cultivate and maintain client relationships, with a preference for established connections within the Québec mining sector.
  • Capacity to act as a Qualified Person or equivalent to meet National Instrument and international reporting standards.

Work Environment

This role involves collaboration within multi-disciplinary teams on diverse projects, both domestically and internationally, with travel being a significant aspect of the position.

Experience a variety of projects and clients in a non-hierarchical consultancy atmosphere, and be part of a highly motivated global consulting group tackling challenging projects across the globe.
