Senior Accountant Job Description

Robert Half is seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant to join our team in Langley, British Columbia. As a Senior Accountant, you will be responsible for building analysis on financial results, working with business partners to ensure compliance with procedures and controls, and managing monthly accounting close procedures.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Build analysis on financial results (trends, performance metrics, benchmarks)
  • Function with business partners to ensure compliance with procedures and controls, corporate accounting policies, and provide support on special requests
  • Manage monthly accounting close procedures and deliverables (journal entries, reconciliations, reports) in compliance with GAAP
  • Prepare Balance Sheet account reconciliations
  • Participate in various initiatives spanning multiple departments
  • Continually improve the automation of the accounting and reporting process
  • Work with internal and external auditors to coordinate quarterly reviews and testing
  • Put together monthly consolidated P& L and Balance Sheet flux analysis for management reporting
Requirements:
  • Designated accountant (CPA or equivalent) with at least 5+ years of full cycle accounting experience and financial reporting, year-end responsibilities
  • Comfortable working independently and providing mentorship, guidance to junior staff as needed
  • Ability to meet deadlines
  • Comfortable working in a changing and dynamic environment
  • Highly capable of analyzing financial data and quickly creating accurate reports
  • Deep understanding of internal controls and SOX compliance
  • Notable analytical, quantitative and social skills
  • BA/BS in Accounting, CPA credentials are highly desired
  • Strong time management and organizational skills
  • Great attention to detail
  • Minimum 5-7 years of overall general accounting experience
  • Proven ability to work and communicate well with manager-level associates
  • Management reporting experience
  • Month-end Financial experience required
  • Balance Sheet Account Reconciliation experience
  • Skilled with ERP systems
