Senior Accountant Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant to join our team at CB Canada. As a Senior Accountant, you will play a key role in supporting the Finance and Accounting team with month-end close process, ensuring account reconciliations and related analysis are completed on a timely basis, and working with the team to develop and enhance standard reporting for all legal entities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support Finance and Accounting team with month-end close process
  • Support process to ensure account reconciliations and related analysis are completed on a timely basis
  • Work with Finance and Accounting team to develop and enhance standard reporting for all legal entities
  • Support projects to enhance existing financial reporting and accounting processes
  • Support efforts to automate manual processes
  • Support Director of Finance with ad hoc projects as required
Requirements:
  • Designated Senior Accountant (CPA or equivalent) with 3+ years of progressive accounting experience and ideally combined with some public practice work experience
  • Public company accounting and IFRS experience
  • Strong accounting and GL account reconciliation experience and assisting with month-end and quarter-end financial reporting
  • Experience in preparing working papers to support month-end close, financial reporting and financial analysis
  • Adept in working on special projects in the Finance Dept.
  • Flexible and able to deal with shifting priorities
  • Deadline-driven and accountable
  • Effective communication skills with business partners and team members
  • Ability to work well independently and not need a lot of guidance
  • Collaborative and able to work effectively with other staff members
  • Advanced Excel skills
