About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mechanical Project Manager to join our team in Port Colborne, Ontario. This role will be responsible for managing capital equipment projects from concept to completion, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery.
The successful candidate will have a strong background in mechanical engineering and project management, with experience in managing complex projects involving capital equipment installations, modifications, and upgrades. They will be able to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including production, maintenance, safety, R&D, and quality groups.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage capital equipment projects from conception to completion
- Design and manage the installation of new and modified equipment
- Create 3D CAD models and 2D drawings for mechanical designs
- Specify and install new equipment for capital projects
- Manage project material quotations, requisitions, tracking, and staging
- Forecast, budget, and control costs within project budgets
- Supervise and support installation contractors for project work
- Maintain plant layout master files in AutoCAD
- Evaluate performance of plant systems and recommend improvements and cost savings
Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, preferably Mechanical
• 6+ years of experience in manufacturing facilities or industrial environments with a focus on mechanical projects, maintenance engineering, and design of machines
• Experience with capital and expense project management is required
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Autodesk Inventor (SolidWorks acceptable but must transition to Inventor)
• Strong technical writing skills and ability to communicate effectively with cross-functional teams
