We are seeking a highly skilled Business Intelligence Developer to join our team at West Fraser. As a key member of our Human Capital Management (HCM) department, you will be responsible for creating and managing Cognos BI analytics solutions that turn data into knowledge.
Key Responsibilities- Design, develop, and maintain reports and integrations using UKG Cognos BI and/or other reporting and visualization tools.
- Serve as a primary resource for HCM requests involving complex reports, integrations, and dashboards.
- Identify opportunities for improvement of related technologies and implement them.
- Prioritize, schedule, and administer enhancements and defect resolution as required.
- Evaluate resolutions and analyze trends for ways to prevent repeated problems.
- Communicate with key stakeholders at all organizational levels.
- Field incoming problem tickets from end users to resolve issues.
- Record, track, and document the problem-solving process and resolution in ServiceNow.
- Test fixes and perform post-resolution follow-ups to ensure problems are resolved.
- Assist in the development and maintenance of manuals and guidelines.
- Analyze and assess existing business systems and procedures.
- Conduct research on emerging application development software products and features.
- Liaise with vendors for efficient implementation of new software products and features.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Information Technology or MIS from a recognized public or private program and/or 5+ years of relevant experience.
- Prior experience with a leading HCM system data (UKG, Workday, Oracle, SAP).
- Understanding of database design, structure, and functions.
- Excellent communication skills and business acumen.
- Demonstrated alignment with and sharing of West Fraser values.
- Specialization in one or more of the following technologies is an asset: Cognos BI or Power BI reporting platforms, relational databases & tools (.NET, SharePoint / o365 suite).
- A competitive salary range of $70,000 to $90,000 per year.
- Annual bonus opportunity.
- Outstanding benefits package including medical, dental, pension, life insurance, disability, accident insurance, vacation, and holidays.
This position will require occasional travel and occasional evening and weekend work to meet deadlines, respond to service interruptions, and perform scheduled maintenance.
