Job Title: Kitchen Helper

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Kitchen Helper to join our team at Empress Family Restaurant. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our food preparation and service.

Responsibilities:
  • Operate dishwashers to wash dishes, glassware, and flatware, maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene.
  • Sanitize and wash dishes and other items by hand, adhering to health and safety protocols.
  • Keep accurate records of food quantities used, contributing to efficient inventory management.
  • Package take-out food and prepare, heat, and finish simple food items to meet customer demands.
  • Use manual and electrical appliances to clean, peel, slice, and trim foodstuffs, ensuring quality and presentation.
  • Clean and sanitize the kitchen, including work surfaces, cupboards, storage areas, appliances, and equipment, maintaining a safe and healthy environment.
  • Receive, unpack, and store supplies in refrigerators, freezers, cupboards, and other storage areas, ensuring timely restocking.
  • Remove kitchen garbage and trash, maintaining a clean and organized workspace.
  • Sweep, mop, wash, and polish floors, contributing to a clean and welcoming atmosphere.
  • Wash, peel, and cut vegetables and fruit, preparing them for cooking and presentation.
Work Environment and Physical Demands:
  • Work in a fast-paced environment, handling heavy loads and performing physically demanding tasks.
  • Stand for extended periods, maintaining attention to detail and working under pressure.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to achieve team goals, demonstrating efficient interpersonal skills and reliability.
