Job Opportunity

Branksome Hall, a leading independent International Baccalaureate (IB) World School, is seeking a qualified and experienced Occasional Supply Teacher to provide classroom coverage on an as-needed basis in the Junior School.

Key Responsibilities
  • Establish a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that fosters learning and personal growth, aligned with the school's values of Sense of Community, Inclusiveness, Creativity, and Making a Difference.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents, promoting a culture of mutual respect and open communication.
  • Deliver high-quality lessons, tailored to meet the diverse needs of students, as assigned by the classroom teacher, and utilizing relevant technology to support instruction.
  • Supervise students during lessons, recess, and lunch, ensuring their safety and well-being.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to implement the school's curriculum and programs, contributing to the development of a strong liberal arts education.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited institution.
  • Ontario College of Teachers certification or equivalent degree with Primary/Junior qualifications, with a minimum of 1-2 years of teaching experience.
  • Specialty in French, Phys Ed., Music is an asset.
  • Experience in and knowledge of IB is an asset.
  • Proven ability to establish a caring rapport with students.
  • Knowledge of relevant technology and ability to work in a laptop environment with required devices and applications.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Self-motivated and responsible individual with a strong work ethic.
  • Positive attitude and ability to maintain a calm and professional demeanor.
  • Alignment with Branksome Hall's mission, vision, and values.
