Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Plumbing Specialist to join our team at Fraser Health. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for performing a variety of skilled plumbing work at the journeyman level.

Key Responsibilities
  • Install, test, maintain, and repair plumbing equipment and systems, including natural gas lines, appliances, and accessories.
  • Inspect and test cross-connection control devices, such as reduced pressure backflow assemblies and double check valve assemblies.
  • Lay out areas for new plumbing installations, designing, measuring, and marking new services and tie-in points.
  • Coordinate projects with user departments and other trades, assigning work tasks and providing related training and orientation.
  • Maintain an inventory of supplies, equipment, and tools, completing related reports and records.
Requirements
  • Certificate of Apprenticeship or Trades Qualification Certificate as a journeyman Plumber, Class B level Gas Fitter's License with an electrical endorsement recognized by the Province of BC.
  • Valid Certificate of Competency as a Cross Connection Control Specialist issued by the American Water Works Association, BC Section.
  • Two years' recent, related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Skills and Abilities
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to deal effectively with others.
  • Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprint, drawings, and specifications.
  • Ability to organize work.
  • Ability to operate related equipment.
