Key Responsibilities
  • Operate and Drive Trucks: Safely operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials, adhering to all traffic laws and regulations.
  • Vehicle Maintenance: Regularly inspect and maintain the condition of the vehicle, including tires, lights, brakes, cold storage, and other equipment, to ensure optimal performance and safety.
  • Emergency Repairs: Perform emergency roadside repairs to minimize downtime and ensure timely delivery.
  • Pre-Trip and Post-Trip Inspections: Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure all aspects of the vehicle are in good working condition.
  • Preventive Maintenance: Perform routine preventive maintenance to extend the lifespan of the vehicle and reduce maintenance costs.
  • Communication: Receive and relay information to central dispatch, ensuring seamless communication and coordination.
  • Cargo Handling: Record cargo information, hours of service, distance traveled, and fuel consumption, as well as ensure the safety and security of cargo.
  • Dangerous Goods Transportation: Transport and handle dangerous goods safely and in compliance with regulations.
Requirements
  • Certifications and Licenses: Possess an Air Brake (Z) Endorsement and a valid Driver's License (Class 1 or A).
  • Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience in long-haul trucking.
  • Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Ability to work in a physically demanding environment, with attention to detail, and possess efficient interpersonal skills.
