Job Summary:
The Addiction Counsellor will provide a range of addiction counselling and supportive services to women in a residential treatment setting. This includes facilitating client activities, providing telephone support, intake, admission, ongoing assessment, individual and group counselling services in collaboration with team members.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide addiction counselling and supportive services to women in a residential treatment setting
- Facilitate client activities and provide telephone support
- Conduct intake, admission, and ongoing assessment of clients
- Provide individual and group counselling services in collaboration with team members
- Play an active role in the development of women's services
Qualifications:
- Community College Diploma in Social Sciences (e.g. Human Services, Addiction Counsellor, Social Services Worker)
- Registration with professional college, if applicable
- Experience in provision of substance abuse counselling to women, including intake/screening, assessment, referral and case management
- Exceptional interpersonal, communication and organizational skills
- Well-developed working knowledge of theories of addiction, treatment models, withdrawal management, mental health issues and women's issues

- Successful External applicants must provide a satisfactory Criminal Investigation Reference for the vulnerable sector, dated within the past six (6) months
