Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Registered Nurse to join our team in the Emergency Department at the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority. As a Registered Nurse in this role, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team, and contributing to the development and implementation of patient care plans.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care plans.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans that meet the unique needs of each patient.
  • Conduct thorough assessments of patients, including physical and emotional evaluations, to identify potential health risks and develop strategies to mitigate them.
  • Develop and implement individualized patient care plans that take into account the patient's medical history, current health status, and personal preferences.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians, and monitor patients for adverse reactions.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care coordination and patient satisfaction.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and outcomes.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest medical research, technologies, and best practices in emergency nursing.
Requirements
  • Current registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba (CRNM).
  • Recent experience in emergency nursing, preferably in a critical care setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a high level of adaptability and flexibility.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities.
  • Proficiency in electronic medical records and other healthcare software.
