Salary and Benefits

The estimated salary for this Registered Nurse position is CAD $41.42 - $59.52 per hour, reflecting the competitive compensation package offered by Fraser Health Authority.

Job Description

As a Registered Nurse in our medicine or surgery unit, you will provide direct patient care through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing interventions.

You will work collaboratively with the interprofessional care team to ensure comprehensive care planning and delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Assess patients and collect information from various sources using observation, communication, data review, and physical assessment skills.
  • Makes a nursing diagnosis of the patient's condition and determines whether it can be improved or resolved by an appropriate nursing intervention.
  • Plans, performs, and evaluates nursing interventions and care.
  • Collaborates with patients and their families/caregivers in developing the care plan and encourages family participation.
  • Establishes a therapeutic relationship by demonstrating empathy, trust, and respect, advocating for the patient's rights to privacy, dignity, and access to information.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you must have:

  • A graduation from an approved School of Nursing with current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
  • Ability to complete initial and ongoing patient assessment, provide nursing care through appropriate/prescribed technical, therapeutic, safety-type interventions.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to promote person-centered care, demonstrate empathy for patients and families/caregivers, and integrate and evaluate data from multiple sources.
