About the Role:

In this role, you will provide essential support services that promote the health, safety, and personal fulfillment of individuals diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Your responsibilities may include:

  • Providing coaching and support in social skills, communication, and leisure activities.
  • Identifying and addressing barriers that impact the quality of life of individuals with ASD, ensuring their Personal Outcomes are met.
  • Administering medication as per established procedures.
  • Following Behavioral and Crisis Protocols as documented.
  • Developing and maintaining positive relationships with families, support networks, and community members.
Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • A Human Services Diploma from a recognized Community College or University, or a Personal Support Worker certificate from a Community College or a registered and Ministry-approved Private Career College.
  • Alternatively, completion of Ontario Secondary School (or equivalent) and 1 year of related experience, preferably supporting individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder.
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in a team.
  • The ability to physically support children, youth, and adults with Autism Spectrum Disorder.
  • The ability to complete the NVCI certification and perform required physical techniques (training will be provided at no cost).
  • A valid Driver's License with a minimum G2 and a reliable vehicle.
  • As a condition of employment, employees must be able to provide a Driver's Abstract in good standing with fewer than three demerit points.
