About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Estimator to lead our project procurement, bid process, and pre-construction efforts. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for mentoring and training junior estimating staff, assembling accurate and detailed budgets and estimates, and working with various contract types.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead a team through project procurement, bid process, and pre-construction
- Work under pressure and meet strict deadlines
- Mentor and train junior estimating staff
- Assemble accurate, detailed, and well-organized budgets and estimates
- Work with various contract types, including Construction Management, Design Build, P3, and Lump sum
- Organize sub-contractor quotes and assist with the buy-out process
- Monitor project success and assist with value engineering and noting potential challenges
- Build and maintain relationships with sub-trades for future opportunities
- Distribute sub-trade quotes and budgets to personnel and coordinate with management to accommodate risk within the bid price
- Maintain databases, including labour rates, material pricing, and project costs, for future reference
Requirements:
- Construction-related degree or diploma and 8 to 10 years of experience in Industrial, Commercial, and Institutional construction estimating or an equivalent combination of technical training and experience
- Advanced knowledge of corporate objectives impacting estimating, estimating strategies and techniques, and construction contracts
- Extensive experience creating conceptual budgets
- Ability to work effectively and accurately in time-sensitive situations while delegating to a team
- Experience with estimating software (OST, costX)
- Eligibility for Security Clearance due to project requirements
