Unlock Your Potential as a Senior Estimator with PCL Construction
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Estimator to join our team at PCL Construction. As a Senior Estimator, you will be responsible for leading large estimates, mentoring junior estimators, and contributing to the growth and success of our company.
Responsibilities
- Conduct detailed analysis of contract documents, including isometric, as-built, and engineering drawings, to determine overall project requirements.
- Establish critical path schedules, including milestone dates and completion timelines, to meet contract completion dates.
- Complete full quantity take-offs of labor, equipment, and materials for larger scopes.
- Lead pricing for general expenses and project-specific general requirements for medium to large projects.
- Assist in presenting estimates and proposals, and prepare client presentations.
- Perform quantity, material, and labor take-offs from drawings, specifications, and related documents.
- Document all information related to the estimate and archive it for future reference.
- Conduct risk and opportunity analyses for review by the chief estimator.
- Liaise with external consultants and project management organizations to estimate project budget requirements.
- Monitor client project-specific success criteria and provide solutions to meet their needs.
- Bachelor's degree in a related discipline or equivalent trade experience.
- Gold Seal certification in estimating required.
- 12 years of progressive experience in construction cost estimating, with 12 months of onsite experience preferred.
- Successful leadership of pursuits valued up to $250 million.
- Experience with self-perform estimates and productivity understanding.
- Knowledge of different construction methods, planning, scheduling, sequencing, potential problems, and timelines.
- Extensive knowledge of key principles involved in bid preparation.
- Ability to lead successful teams, develop and maintain productive relationships, and leverage industry relationships for a competitive advantage.
