Job Title: Senior Power System Study Engineer

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Power System Study Engineer to join our team at AtkinsRéalis. As a Senior Power System Study Engineer, you will be responsible for defining the scope and budget for power system studies mandates, performing and reviewing various power system studies, and preparing detailed engineering drawings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Define the scope and budget for power system studies mandates
  • Perform and review power system studies, including substation grounding and lightning studies, substation bus studies, electromagnetic transient studies, and cable sizing studies
  • Prepare detailed engineering drawings
  • Use software tools such as CDEGS, ETAP, WinIGS, CYMCAP, ASPEN OneLiner, and PSCAD
  • Plan, schedule, and estimate engineering coordination with other disciplines
  • Attend design review and constructability meetings with customers and represent the system studies discipline
  • Mentor junior resources in the use of power system software modeling and conducting studies

Requirements:

  • 8+ years of experience in substation design and power system studies
  • University degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent discipline
  • Registered PEng with EGBA or APEGA
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
  • SES Tech CDEGS Level II or III certification is an asset
  • Working knowledge in AutoCAD, MicroStation, PSS/E, PowerFactory DigSILENT is an asset
  • Hand-on experience with soil resistivity, ground impedance measurements, power quality measurements, is an asset
