About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Health and Safety Senior Consultant to join our team at CrossSafety Holdings Inc. This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned professional to support our clients in the Surface Transit Infrastructure Team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direction, support, and leadership to project clients, employees, and contractors on all safety initiatives.
  • Conduct project-level inspections and audits as required.
  • Offer expertise and advice to clients, colleagues, and management on health, safety, and environmental issues.
  • Prepare internal and external reports, timesheets, and other required H&S documentation.
  • Support Occupational Safety, Health, and Wellbeing strategies.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections/audits of jobsites, public areas, and adjacent areas, taking necessary and timely corrective actions to eliminate unsafe acts or conditions.
  • Assist with on-site incidents, accidents, investigations, and H&S requirements.
  • Identify opportunities to expand or obtain new client opportunities leveraging CrossSafety Holdings Inc. services.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Certificate or Diploma in Health and Safety, or equivalent training and experience.
  • Holds a Professional designation such as NCSO, CRSP, CRST, CHSC, or working towards.
  • Minimum 5 to 7 years of direct onsite safety management experience.
  • Experience in transportation and heavy civil construction.
  • Strong working knowledge of Ontario OHSA and Regulations for Construction projects.
  • Field-level safety audit and inspection experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in public safety, testing and commissioning, and operational safety, ideally in the transit or rail industry.
  • Work experience as a representative of the owner.
  • Proficient with computer applications, tablets, and the Microsoft Office suite of products.
  • Effective communication, presentation, and consultation skills.
  • Effective written communication skills and interpersonal skills.
