About the Role:

Mainroad Alberta Contracting LP is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Quality Assistant to join our quality team. This full-time, salaried position is a 6-month contract located in Red Deer, AB, and reports directly to the Corporate Quality Manager.

About Us:

Mainroad Alberta Contracting LP is part of the Mainroad Group, an employee-owned company recognized as a leader in providing innovative, safe, and reliable maintenance, products, and construction services for civil infrastructure across Canada.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Corporate Quality Manager with the implementation and maintenance of the Company Quality Management Program.
  • Monitor and report on the Company's adherence to contractual obligations.
  • Work closely with the Corporate Compliance Team and other departments to ensure alignment and compliance.
  • Help prepare and deliver staff presentations and training sessions.
  • Conduct audits in various weather conditions, ensuring compliance and identifying areas for improvement.
  • Perform data entry, formatting, analysis, and electronic filing in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Help prepare reports for Transportation and Economic Corridors.
  • Conduct pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections and hazard assessments.
  • Record and distribute meeting minutes.
  • Maintain effective communication with the Operations teams and other departments to support seamless operations.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma required; Post-Secondary Certificate or Diploma preferred.
  • ISO 9001:2015 Internal Auditor Certificate is an asset.
  • Prior experience in quality control, ideally within highway maintenance, construction, or a related industry is preferred.
  • Field audit experience is a plus.
  • Strong data entry, formatting, and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) is essential.
  • Ability to effectively interpret and apply written contracts.
  • Must hold a valid Class 5 Driver's License.
  • Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and administrative abilities.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • A demonstrated ability to learn quickly and a commitment to continuous professional development.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and a strong work ethic.
  • Capable of working independently with minimal supervision as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • A strong client-oriented approach.
  • Willingness to drive and work in challenging weather conditions, and availability to work flexible hours, including weekends, as required.
