TEEMA staffing is seeking a skilled Occupational Therapist to join our team in the Kent School District. As an Occupational Therapist, you will play a vital role in providing specially designed instruction and related services to students with special needs.
Job Summary:The Occupational Therapist will collaborate with families and educational team members to develop appropriate education programs and advise on health-related concerns that impact education for students with special needs. The program goal is to help students function as independently as possible within the least restrictive environment.
Key Responsibilities:- Evaluate student occupational profiles, classroom environments, and sensory and motor performance deficits that interfere with student development, learning, and access to education.
- Develop and implement occupational therapy intervention plans that include direct service, collaboration, or shared goals/objectives with classroom staff, and consultation/problem-solving.
- Coordinate services with the IEP team, including parent involvement.
- Adapt and modify the environment, including assistive technology and training.
- Supervise certified occupational therapy assistants in the implementation of occupational therapy services.
- Provide in-service to classroom teachers and paraprofessionals to embed intervention techniques in the classroom and support generalization of student skills.
- Possess a degree in Occupational Therapy.
- Possess National Certification (NBCOT).
- Possess current Washington State Occupational Therapy license.
