Job Title: Teacher: Student Support

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Teacher: Student Support to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing support to students with special needs, working collaboratively with teachers and other staff members to develop and implement individualized education plans, and promoting a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individualized support to students with special needs, including developing and implementing individualized education plans
  • Collaborate with teachers and other staff members to develop and implement strategies to support students with special needs
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of a positive and inclusive learning environment
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff members to ensure the needs of students with special needs are met
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge in supporting students with special needs

Requirements:

  • Minimum of three years of experience in the role of Special Education/Student Support Teacher
  • Experience in collaborative support to students in the effective implementation of formative assessment and differentiated instruction
  • Positive school environment approaches to classroom management
  • Experience with Balanced Literacy Strategies
  • Experience in modeling and/or leading professional learning communities
  • Experience in developing and implementing individual education plans for students with exceptionalities in a collaborative context
  • Teaching experience in an ESL environment
  • Cross-cultural and/or northern teaching experience
  • Planning skills (lesson, theme, unit, year, and student support plans)
  • Effective communication skills

  • Competitive salary range: $83,643 - $131,151 per annum
  • Northern Allowance: $19,716 per annum
