Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled Land Use Planning Strategist to join our team at the Government of the Northwest Territories.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Setting the strategic framework for land use planning throughout the NWT;
  • Ensuring that GNWT obligations related to regional land use planning are fulfilled;
Key Qualifications:
  • Extensive knowledge and experience in land use planning and management;
  • Familiarity with Departmental Acts, Agreements, frameworks, strategies, and policies related to public lands;
  • Knowledge of principles and practices related to public sector management, socio-economic research, and analysis;
Education and Experience:

A Graduate Degree in Natural Resource Management, Environmental Studies, Environmental Science, Planning, Geography, Economics, or similar relevant disciplines, along with five (5) years of experience in planning or legislative and policy analysis and development, and project management, including at least five years supervising the work of others.

Estimated Salary:

$85,000 - $105,000 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience.
